When you’re young, you’re very impressionable. Others will notice what is unique about you before you do. Others may even have the ability to make you feel insecure about being different, if you have not received reassurance first.
The key to growing in business is growing how you perceive the world, your position in it, and what you have to offer.

When you’re maturing, you start to navigate the path of life. Sometimes, while on that path you find yourself trying to fit in. Other times, you find yourself going out of your way to stand out.
Once maturity is reached, you can combine the experiences that came from being a naïve youth and a maturing young adult. From there, you can take what you need from those experiences and implement them for growth.
When I was young, I found myself building insecurities around my appearance based on environment, peers, beauty standards – whatever was applicable to my age bracket at the time.
While navigating the complexities of young adulthood, I found myself wanting to adhere to certain beauty standards. Here, the story around my gapped tooth smile lies.
A young 20 something me spent thousands of dollars on braces, twice. Just to ultimately decide I enjoy my face and am much more comfortable with my natural gapped smile.

How did this all shape the way I see business?
Well, it’s simple. As an eager to learn baby entrepreneur – I found myself being a bit too impressionable. As I began to mature in my career I found myself trying to fit in, then trying way too hard to stand out.
Now, in this phase of maturity-
I have learned to highlight my strengths and outsource my weaknesses where I can. Better; create structure that is lean and stationed upon my strengths.

As I continue to mature; I am learning the key to it all is being my natural self, while growing within my strengths and tailoring the structure to suit me ( not what I think will benefit the client) best.
The key to growing in business is growing how you perceive the world, your position in it, and what you have to offer. I have learned all that simply by learning to love my smile again. Go figure.
